Uses of Future Perfect Tense

We use Future Perfect Tense to talk about actions that will be completed in some future time.

I shall have completed my homework by then.

By the end of this year, I will have worked here for three years.

Apart from ‘will’, we can use other modal verbs too to talk about the future in a less certain way.

By the time police get any clue, we will/may/should have crossed into Turkey.

Different Sentence structures of the Future Perfect Tense

Structure of Declarative sentences

Affirmative Declarative Sentences

Pattern: Subject + shall/will + have + $V_3$ + Object

Aanya will have completed her homework by then.
They will have completed their homework by then.  

Negative Declarative Sentences

Pattern: Subject + shall/will + not + have + $V_3$ + Object

Aanya will not have completed her homework by then.
They will not have completed their homework by then.

We can write shall not and will not as shan’t and won’t too respectively.

Structure of Interrogative sentences

Affirmative Interrogative Sentences

Pattern 1: Shall/Will + Subject + have + $V_3$ + Object?

Will Aanya have completed her homework by then?

Pattern 2: Wh. family + will/shall + Subject + have + $V_3$ + Object?

When will Aanya have completed her homework?

Negative Interrogative Sentences

Pattern 1: Shall/Will + Subject + not + have + $V_3$ + Object?

Will Aanya not have completed her homework by then?

Pattern 2: Wh. family + will/shall + Subject + not + have + $V_3$ + Object?

Why will Aanya not have completed her homework?
